Julian West
Nombreuse en citoyens, superbe en bâtiments;
Et j'en crois merveilleux les divertissements.
Ils ont en ce pays de quoi se contenter.
I found a lost bicycle in Grangetown, Cardiff (photo). If it is yours, call me and tell me where and when you lost it, and what picture is on the handbell.
I am away from the UK until June 28th.
Some ways to contact me... e-mail: julianATjulianwestDOTca
current snailmail: 19 Westbrooke Court, Cumberland Close, Bristol BR1 6XE
There is really only one phone number for me these days, namely my UK mobile number. This works even if I am travelling to somewhere else in Europe: +44.789.690.5019
I keep a USA mobile number which I use on trips to North America, although I have none planned at the moment:
+1.617.909.3191
And also I still have a French number, but I rarely check messages on it, even when I am in France: +33.6.32.43.55.02

I lived in Paris in 2009, and still spend a lot of time there.
Here's a list of some of the things I've been to see, many of them in Paris:
in 2009, in 2010,
in 2011.
I go to the opera frequently.
If you don't yet realize that you like opera, check out my list of operas you will like.
I ran the 2010 Bristol Half Marathon, and finished with a time of 2:04:44. In 2011 I improved this to 1:58:30. In 2012, I plan to run both the Bristol and Cardiff half marathons.
I try to go for a long run once a week.
I've mapped some of my longer runs using MapMyRun.com:
S 7/17 That's the way they do it
S 7/24 My usual run to Pill
F 7/30 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Th 8/05 Strawberry Fields
You can also see where I went running in 2009.
I have been posting photos on facebook. Here are the public links, so that even without a facebook account(!?!) you can see
my neighbourhood in winter,
my neighbourhood in spring, some
displays and some
student murals at the Ecole Polytechnique, and
my friend Adam Charlesworth standing beside a famous tower.
I am the fourth person to translate George Perec's novel La Disparition into English. As my translation isn't published, I can't link to it here, although I may add a short extract later. In the meantime, here are some rather silly
translations of pop songs I did for fun.
